Careers Day 2010 - Who are you?

The third edition of the ‘Utrecht University Careers Day’ will take place on Thursday, 11 February 2010 at the Educatorium (De Uithof). The Careers Day is specially organized for students, alumni and PhDs of all Faculties of Utrecht University that are looking for information about career options, an internship, traineeship or getting a job. The goal of this event is to bring students and alumni in contact with many interesting companies through activities such as workshops, presentations, individual meetings based on CV selection and a Careers Fair.

Schedule of the day

09.30h – 10.00h:  Registration*
10.00h – 10.30h:  Coffee and Tea

10.30h – 11.15h: Company presentations and workshops
11.45h – 12.30h: Company presentations and workshops

12.30h – 16.00h: Careers Fair 

14.15h – 15.00h: Company presentations and workshops
15.30h – 16.15h: Company presentations and workshops

16.00h – 18.00h:  Informal drink
 
During the day there are also:
- Training courses
- Individual meetings
- Speed dates with graduates

Signing Up

It is no longer possible to sign up online, but you can still sign up at the late regastration desk on the day itself. There is no entrance fee. You can apply for different company presentations, workshops and/or training courses from many companies. It is no longer possible to upload your resume during the sign up procedure. If you sent in your resume before the 28th of January you may be invited for an individual meeting with a renowned company.

Volunteers

Do you want to be more involved with the Careers Day? Sign up as a volunteer by sending an e-mail to: carrieredag@uu.nl. Especially if you're interested in organizing this event next year in 2011, we invite you to come and help us during the day. As a volunteer it is possible to visit activities such as workshops and the Careers Fair. Volunteers receive a small present.
 

Activities for International Students

This year extra attention has been paid to Internationalization and Diversity. Therefore, we have invited many companies which are interested in meeting international students and alumni. On the Careers Fair you can meet companies such as Witteveen+Bos, TNO, Optiver, KNMI, Utrecht University, Hyves and Abbott who have this special interest. TNO, Optiver and APG will give an English presentation during the day. APG, Abbott and Hyves will have individual meetings with both Dutch and international students and alumni. Toastmasters will give workshops on Communication Skills Development and also Leadership/Organisational Skills Development. Moreover Integrand will give a presentation about general tips on how to write a resume and motivation letter, next to providing internships for international students. If you want to know more about what kind of work international students can do during or after their studies in The Netherlands, sign up for the training course from Import Expat.
